In 26 days, I will send one of my best friends away for two years. Jord was called to the Anaheim, California Mission. I'm so happy for him and know he will do so awesome, but it's always hard to send someone away. He is more than ready to leave, and I'm excited for him to have those experiences.
In 29 days I will be running my third marathon. At this very time. In fact, at this very time, I will probably be asking myself "Why?!" If you are not a long distance runner, you will never understand how hard it really is. Try it. Then talk to me.
In 61 days I will get to welcome home my other best friend! Mitch comes home on November 3rd. He has had a great mission and I'm proud of all he has done. I am so excited to see him again...two years is a LONG time. In many ways it went by fast, but in other ways it went by slow. It was worth every second.
O.k...so maybe this countdown goes into 2011, too, because in 2011...I WILL BE GRADUATED! What will I do without school? That's I'll I've ever known. Study...study...and study. I don't know what I will do with all this free time?! (O.k., I know what you're all thinking. There is NO free time. Let me refresh your memory: Do you recall all those late nights staying up to study, and how awful you felt the next day? Or, how about giving up your weekend to cram for your test the coming week? What about all those grandparent visits we cut short so we could finish our homework on SUNDAY.....Oh, come on...everyone does it. I can keep this list going if you'd like).
With graduation comes another countdown: How many days will it take me to find a job? I'm so excited for this part of my life, but also so nervous. I really enjoy working and seeing things finished. It's a great feeling to know you've done something of worth to help someone or something. And that's what work is all about!
Then, the most important countdown...how much longer until Lillie and Ryder start calling me Ash??? This will be a day for the books.
